The USDA Food Distribution Program (FDP) coordinates the distribution of USDA Foods to many of the public and private schools that provide meals to students. In Connecticut, the FDP's USDA Foods is administered through the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE). The FDP supports American agricultural producers by providing cash reimbursements for meals served in schools, and by providing nutritious USDA-purchased foods to the following USDA nutrition programs:
