Claim Submission Schedule for Child Nutrition Programs

The federal regulations for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child Nutrition Programs specify time limits for sponsor submission of monthly claims for reimbursement. The claim due date is the 15th of the month following the last day of the month covered by the claim. When the 15th falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date follows the schedule outlined in the Claim Submission Schedule below. Final claims, including revisions, must be submitted to the Connecticut State Department of Education no later than 60 days following the last day of the month covered by the claim. Claims not filed or corrected within the 60 days might not be paid.

School Nutrition Programs
Includes the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), Afterschool Snack Program (ASP) of the NSLP, Seamless Summer Option (SSO) of the NSLP, and Special Milk Program (SMP)
Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)
Includes child care centers, at-risk afterschool care centers, emergency shelters, family day care homes, and adult day care centers
