{Assorted foods from the food groups}

Foods and beverages must comply with specific requirements to credit toward the CACFP adult meal patterns for CACFP adult day care centers. The new CACFP adult meal patterns take effect on October 1, 2017, as required by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) final rule, Child and Adult Care Food Program: Meal Pattern Revisions Related to the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. Effective October 1, 2019, serving sizes for grains must comply with the ounce equivalents for creditable grains in Whole Grain-rich Ounce Equivalents for the CACFP.

The final rule requires more whole grains and a greater variety of vegetables and fruits, and reduces the amount of added sugars and solid fats in CACFP meals. It also better aligns the CACFP with other Child Nutrition Programs.

Crediting Guide (October 1, 2017, through September 30, 2019)

Note: This guide is in effect through September 30, 2019. Effective October 1, 2019, serving sizes must comply with the ounce equivalents for creditable grains in Whole Grain-rich Ounce Equivalents (Oz Eq) for the CACFP. The CSDE will update the Crediting Guide prior to this change.
